The international airport of Tunis-Carthage (AITA code: TUN • ICAO code: DTTA) serves Tunis (capital of Tunisia). Located eight kilometers north-east of Tunis, it is put into operation in 1940.
The airport is named after the historic city of Carthage, which is located to the east of the airport. When it is put into operation, the aerodrome is known as Tunis-El Aouina.
Like the vast majority of Tunisian airports, the airport is managed by the Office of Civil Aviation and Airports (OACA).
The airport also serves Montreal in Canada north of the United States.
